What was happening in the world: Popular culture was experiencing some very notable moments on this day in 2014. April 10 is when Stephen Colbert announced he was leaving his hit show The Colbert Report to take over for David Letterman as host of The Late Show. It was also on this day in 2014 that legendary acts like Kiss, Nirvana, Hall & Oates, Linda Ronstadt and more were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
In science news, it was during this time that scientists first discovered a moon orbiting around an exoplanet, which is a planet outside the Solar System. Using a technique called gravitational microlensing, scientists in New Zealand and Australia were able to see a foreground object (assumed to be a planet) with a much smaller object orbiting it (assumed to be a moon), something which had never been observed before outside our own solar system.
What was happening with Klein Tools: 2014 was an important year of growth for Klein Tools. On April 10, 2014, Klein Tools opened its new state-of-the-art heat treating facility in Mansfield, Texas. Continuing our commitment to manufacturing the highest quality hand tools in the United States, this new facility added more than 200 jobs to the community, and the move was celebrated by the Klein family and then governor of Texas, Rick Perry. The new heat treating facility was opened to streamline the production of Klein’s Journeyman Pliers and Wire Strippers/Cutters.
